Mold Remediation

If a mold is encountered, Carolina Consolidated Services is a fully capable and is NAMP certified to remediate all mold. We can handle all of your contamination issues, and have the ability to offer on-site testing and can verify the results with an independent lab to ensure the structure is safe to occupy. There is no way to remove all mold from any structure. However, as long as the inside spore count is within range of the outside count, the structure will pose no health threat.

Excessive moisture can cause many structural issues to occur in your home and it can also lead to health issues caused by molds. These structural issues associated with excess moisture are reduced or eliminated by properly closing the crawl space:

Mold Remediation Program involves removing existing mold and eliminating conditions such as moisture ingress and high humidity, which can cause mold to grow out of control.

Typical Remediation Process
  1. Inspect the structure with Hygromometers, boroscopes

  2. Contain the area with a HEPA-Filtered negative pressure enclosure system (when required) to prevent the spread of spores to other parts of the structure.

  3. Remove any contents that are to be preserved.

  4. Wet vacuum (in the case of porous materials, some mold spores/fragments will remain in the material but will not grow if the material is completely dried. Steam cleaning may be an alternative for carpets and some upholstered furniture.

  5. Damp-wipe surfaces with plain water or with water and detergent solution (except wood - use wood floor cleaner); scrub as needed. Treat areas affected with appropriate biocides and fungicides.

  6. Clean all vent registers and wall plates.

  7. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuum after the material has been thoroughly dried. Dispose of the contents of the HEPA vacuum in well-sealed plastic bags.

  8. Remove damaged materials and seal in plastic bags while in containment, if present. Dispose of as normal waste.

  9. Utilize forced air to dry the wet areas. HEPA vacuum area after it is dried.

  10. Treat necessary areas with mold inhibitors as required.

  11. Take an air sampling to verify indoor spore count is in line with outdoor count.

  12. Return cleaned and preserved contents.
